I came to college expecting a lot of great things and many oppurtunities to learn incredible things but i found out that college is just not for me , and its simply not working out for me. So , i’ve got my own business plans as soon as i go back to my home country (India). My question was , since i’m dropping out of college after this semester … should i bother paying the college this semester fees or should i just leave after notifying them ? and also oi’m telling the school officials that i’m taking a two semester break so just in case things don’t work out back at home i’ll have a contingency plan to fall back to. Considering the fees is so high … i would really prefer not paying the fees , although i talked to the college and they said that i am being charged 1 % interest each month of the amount i owe the college. So according to their statement , " I’m not allowed to enroll for another semester unless i pay my due amount in full" … So does that mean that if i leave the college , i ?wouldn’t have to bother paying their high tuition fees for this semester?
Please clarify when you are dropping out? Are you currently enrolled in Spring Semester, and are you planning to attend for the full spring semester? If so, then YES you must pay for the semester.
If you are thinking of withdrawing from Spring Semester classes, then you can check with your college to see if you can avoid full payment for this semester.
If you think you can attend all semester and NOT pay any tuition, I would encourage you to do the right thing and pay for what you receive. Legally when you sign the paperwork you are agreeing to make the payments. And unless you go through the proper administrative procedure to withdraw from the college, you are liable for your tuition.
If you aren’t going to pay the fee, leave the college.
