I'm applying to Satnford and Northeastern, my transcript shows my unweighted but my coundler and I calculated my weighted and I'm putting that. Will a school deny me for doing this? Or look down on me? They can always see my unweighted on my official (which does not include weighted GPA)

I have heard " use what is on your transcript."

but is that a requirement? if i am not frowned upon i’m going to use my weighted…

You whatever your high school uses.

This is an odd question. Did you and your counselor use the school’s definition of weighting for the classes? Most schools that have weighting criteria include that on the transcript. Otherwise you’re just making up a number. I would use the number on the transcript.

this might help from the common app hint(? circle) “I am not sure how to report my Class Rank and GPA within the Academics section.
You should report your current Class Rank and GPA, even if they might change later in the school year. If your school does not rank, select “None” from the dropdown menu. If your school calculates both weighted and unweighted Class Rank/GPA, report the weighted value. If your school does not calculate a cumulative numerical GPA, or if it uses a GPA scale that is different than the options available in the dropdown menu, leave the Cumulative GPA field blank.” so i’m guessing if weighted is availible, then use it?

I think you should use what is on your transcript. Most colleges will calculate your unweighted GPA anyway using their own formula

*Sorry, just noticed that this is an old thread someone revived.
