Hi guys.
I'm currently a freshman at a large state school. I don't mind being here...my professors are awesome, I love my classes, and I've made some good friends. but..i'll never be able to say that i LOVE my school. i still never planned on transferring out but after visiting my friends in Philly/Penn several times...I KNOW Penn is where I want to be. Penn offers a major that my school doesn't have. I love the campus, city, and surrounding area...but most importantly- the people there are amazing...i would never want to go home. I felt so comfortable there...when I came back to my school, it didn't feel like a part of me. Also, I'll be doing volunteer work in west philly and working at one of the hospitals this summer so i just feel like i have a connection with the area.
THe idea of being at Penn crosses my mind every day but I'm worried that I'm going to get so excited for this only to realize I never had a chance in the first place. I want to transfer for my junior year because I don't think my HS record (really good ECs, toughest courseload, only top 10%, horrible SAT score- 1330) and first semster college GPA (not sure but it won't be that pretty) are strong enough to get me in for sophomore year. I know my stats make me sound stupid but I did get into some top tier schools the first time around...I didn't go to any of them though because I didn't think any of them were worth the money. I'm glad I didn't though because being here has made me realize that Penn is the perfect place for me. If i get a 3.7-4.0 from this point on...do you think I have a pretty good chance of being accepted? THis is really long...i'm sorry..thanks to anyone who read all of it. =)

are you talking about UPENN?

well you would really have to do some spectacular that would make you stand out like publish a book, open your company etc.

I am talking out of personal experience. I have my own company that was featured in NYTIMES out of high school but I had horrible SAT scores... so I was wait listed at Wharton.

Just have some other schools as a backup.

Look at other Philly schools: Haverford, Villanova, etc...

What major are you aiming for?
