Should I retake a 1490 New SAT?

I’m applying ED to Johns Hopkins, do you think this score is competitive enough?

The 2014/2015 common data set for Johns Hopkins (the 2015/2016 data set wouldn’t open for me) shows 1360 as the 25th percentile and 1530 as the 75th percentile. So you are closer to the 75th than the 25th which in theory makes your score competitive “enough”. But without knowing how the rest of your app will be perceived by an adcom at JHU there is no way to evaluate whether that score would be enough to overcome perhaps a lower GPA or an average essay.

Remember that the New SAT scores may be misleading since scores are often higher for the New SAT than what is reported by College Statistics.
