This score bothers me greatly.

Should I retake it?

This score bothers me greatly.

Should I retake it?

No.

Pigs get fat;hogs get slaughtered

Indeed.

Listen to these words

You said you got a 2400 on your third try in another thread, so…

He’s talking about the SAT II US History test.

Don’t retake it.

Believe me, I was bothered greatly when I also got a 790 on the SAT II US History test. But then I snapped out of it and realized that it’s still the 97th percentile. There’s nothing to be ashamed about. One problem could’ve made the difference between an 800 and a 790, but imagine if you had made a few more dumb mistakes and ended up with a 750. Just be grateful.

Oh god, a 750. The horror.

If you take these tests for the purpose of getting into college, then don’t retake it. The 10 points (purportedly) won’t make or break you.

If you take these tests because you enjoy taking SAT II’s and like to prove your mastery over them, don’t retake it. Get a more productive hobby.

If you don’t retake it, you’ll never get into a decent college. Like, you’ll have to go to Yale or some other crappy school instead of Harvard. Basically, you’ll have ruined your life.

Not even Yale. He’ll have to go to CC

Who’s to say that it’s not productive? :O

Well, I would prefer 99th percentile.
But your reasoning makes sense.
Thank you.

@OP.
Depends… do you want to be flipping burgers for the rest of your life?

Hell yeah dude. A 790? That’s like Dartmouth material. And you know what happens at Dartmouth…

I love Dartmouth!
I would be extremely pleased to attend Dartmouth.

Man… whoever’s reading your application at the Ivies will be pleased that so much care is going into your application right now.

I’m thinking they’re numbers-obsessed and throw it out automatically.

790 automatically disqualifies you at all but the worst schools in the US.

Retake. Top colleges are obviously all looking for neurotic insecure numbers-obsessed nerds with completely misplaced priorities.

You might think 790 is not terrible.
For me, it is.

Your sense of what’s terrible is horribly warped. Think about the score, and the average.

MIThopeful16: stop making foolish assumptions.
I am extremely annoyed with your garbage.

Stop being whiny over a 790. And I must have struck a nerve. A little upset I see?
