Last year as a sophomore I took AP bio, physics 1, and world. As a last minute decision, I decided to take the subject tests for all three of them because I thought I could do well. I ended up getting a 690 on Biology M, 670 on Physics, and 640 on World History. My top schools are Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and MIT, and I know those scores are really low compared to the average. The one I am most worried about is definitely Cornell, because I know they don’t participate in score choice. I was originally planning on just retaking the Biology M (I want to major in biochemistry/ go into premed) and “hiding” my physics and world history, but that’s not possible for Cornell since you have to send in all scores. I got a 5 on AP world, and a 4 for biology and physics, and had an unweighted 4.0 in every class (and I got an award in biology and physics, not sure how important that is). My major concerns are the physics and world history tests. I’m not planning on going into anything at all history related and did well in the class and do not want to retake it, but would it look bad if I didn’t? Also at the end of this year I want to take the math II and chemistry subject tests because I’m taking precalculus and AP chemistry this year, which are two of my stronger subjects. I’m also taking AP physics C as a senior, so I would probably wait until October 2017 to retake the physics SAT II. Any recommendations on what I should and shouldn’t retake?
