Should i retake my SAT

Im a junior right now and ive taken the SAT twice, January and march. I was wondering if i should take the SAT again, most likely in October of my senior year. My score went up 100 points with relatively no studying. I would study for the october SAT over the summer and in the fall.

January SAT:

680 Math
640 Reading
620 Writing

1940/2400
1320/1600
**
March SAT: **

720 Math
680 Reading
640 Writing

2040/2400
1400/1600

Schools im considering applying to:

Johns Hopkins
Carnegie Mellon
University of Michigan
University of Rochester
Bucknell
University of Maryland - College park
College of the Holy Cross

I would say study for it, and you’d see a decent increase.

I’d say take it again, especially for JHU, CMU, and UofM (if out of state). I’m not sure what their 50% distribution is, but they’re pretty high.

i would sasy definetly take it again. Your score improves something like 100 points every year naturally.

My S took SAT 3 times aready, The scores are all round 1750 - 1850 without any study. Would that be a problem if my s take his 4th time
?

@.enigma: Definitely study over the summer, do a subject a day, timed. Memorize the vocabulary in Direct Hits: Core Words and Direct Hits: Toughest Vocabulary of the SAT. Use the Collegeboard Official Study guide with 10 practice tests to practice.

@lovingbird: Generally, colleges don’t look too favorably on taking the SAT more than 3 times; however, if your son can manage to break 2000 on practice tests consistently, he should take them again.
