Should I retake? Please give your opinion

Scored 740 on bio m. Is this score good enough for the top colleges or should i retake?
thanks in advance!

Not a bad score at all. Definitely wouldn’t hurt you. Instead of taking the time to prepare for this test again, I’d recommend using it for other aspects of your application: polishing your essays, beef up your extracurriculars, etc.

If you’re really paranoid, there’s no harm in retaking it either. I think a 740 is a decent score, however.

Retake if you have the time and money and the SAT score. IF your SAT score isn’t high focus on that first.

Don’t retake – even going from a 740 to an 800 won’t help you too much, and you can use your time for something more productive. I got a 740 on US history last year (5 on the AP) and considered retaking, but its just not worth it. You can still get into an ivy with a 740, or even a 620 for that matter.

If you are going to take more subject tests you could add it in.

thanks to everyone who replied!

I wouldn’t worry about it, either. Anything over 700 is generally considered an excellent score. (I got a 680 when i took it sophomore year and was fairly pleased, since I’m not planning on going into science.) If you have other tests and a great application, I doubt colleges would even notice if you had a slightly better score on an SAT II.
