I have a below average GPA ~3.7 UW (Though completely all Honors/AP classes) and currently have a 1540 Superscore on the SAT. Should I bother to retake the SAT for a higher Superscore in order to gain a more solid chance at Penn admission? Or is a higher score negligible at this point? Don’t comment about extracurriculars and other important applications things because I am not asking about that, strictly the academic/quantitative portion of my app, what should I do?
What are your section scores?
@lalalemma 740 Reading / 800 Math
I’m not an AO and I may be in the minority here, but considering your GPA, which is very good, I’d retake if you have the time and can fully prepare. A score of 1,540 is excellent, but you know those Ivies.
Don’t focus just on Penn. Cast a broad net.
@jaymiegaymie as people said above only if you have time. the score is already really good and it is not worth taking time away from other things like essay prep etc. But if you have time to do some extra prep and you think you will do even better, then sure take it.
If you want to then retake it, but no college is going to reject for a 1540, it will be for a different reason
