Should I retake the ACT?

I just got my scores in the mail for the March state ACT testing, and I scored 35 in the English, math, and reading sections, but I only scored 27 in the science one. Although I my composite score is 33, I am worried that my low score in the science section will reflect poorly on me to colleges, especially because I plan to study computer science. Should I retake the ACT and try to score more consistently?

Im sure you can get a better score in science when you scored 35 on other sections. Would be amazing if you get 35 which looks possible.

Hey, I have the exact opposite problem as yours, but even worse. I did well on the science(33), but preformed absolutely horrid on the math(24). The science, in my opinion is very easy and you should be able to improve. Unfortunately getting 3 wrong on the entire science section brings you down to a 30. That being said, taking practice science tests are key. I usually find the tests on the practice are a lot harder than the actually ACT ones that I’ve taken. In this case, that’s a good thing. One thing I’ve noticed is that the science questions are incrediblely straight forward. 95% of the questions tell you watch graphs or tables to look at. With practice, you’ll be able learn how to pick up data from these ACT made graphs quite quickly and with ease. If you’re planning on applying to colleges that offer super scores, then you should definitely retake it. This way, you only have to focus on the science and nothing else. In short, yes you should retake it. It won’t hurt. This might be out of context, but do you mind giving me some math tips? They can be specific or broad. It doesn’t matter. Thanks! Please give me an @jackluzzy

@JackLuzzy Where do you go wrong the most in Math?

@thinggamajig102 Mostly in geography and some trig. I’m currently in Alegbra 2/Trigonometry. In terms of class, I do very well and get good grades. What I find weird is the fact that I feel like I’m going well when I’m taking the ACT math section. Clearly I’m not. I’m guessing that I make a ton of silly mistakes when I take the test. I should also mention that I hate geography. Any tips?
