As of right now I think my number one choice is University of Rochester. I have a 3.8 unweighted gpa, 1310 SATs. I am involved in a few clubs at my very limiting school. I have been the editor of my school's yearbook for two years and have volunteered at a local hospital for four years. I am interested in studying psychology. However, one thing that makes me worry is my math B regents score, a 79. I took the test over a year ago, and did not feel prepared to take the august exam so, here I am feeling even less prepared for the august exam. I just want to know if it is even worth retaking the test. In order for my to take the test my family would have to return two days early from vacation, driving 15 hours or so the morning of the test to get me there. My parent are willing to do this but, at this point I don't know whether I would even get a better score. So basically, I just want to know if one 79 on a regents is going to greatly hinder me. Well I also did not do very well on the chemistry regents but, that was so long ago and I have already taken it twice.

No way, Jos

(But some NY uni's do care about them)

Can you take the January test? Or are you applying this year?
If you can't, I wouldn't let it freak you out too much (and not take the aug. test), so long as your grade in the class was decent.

I am applying this year. I think my grade in the class was somewhere between 88 and 91. From what I can gather U of R doesn't consider grades to be the most important factor in admissions. I think I will just let it go.

I got an 87 in the regents because I was sick that day, even though I had a 99 in the class. Im still applying to HYP^_^

if you're applying to SUNY they WILL take it into account (its like the NYS SAT's for SUNY)

I am not appyling to any SUNYs. Right now it is U of R, Syracuse, BC, villanova, and William and Mary.
