should i retake the SAT? does this look bad? even if i took the ACT too

my scores are 660 math, 670 writing, 780 critical reading

im not going to go up in math... this is a 660 AFTER an intense tutor ( i know i know)

writing is the only one im kind of po'd about... to be fair i didn't study but does that look bad that my cr score is SO much higher than writing? does it look bad that i'm randomly really high in ONE score?

and does it even matter as much? i know writing is looked at as having less weight at some universities and colleges

i also got a 32 composite on my ACT's...

im looking to apply early to somewhere like wesleyan or vassar

My D had similar scores and she retook in June. What was your essay score? I would consider my D a good writer but she had a low essay score the first time because she didn't really study up on the format of how they wanted the essay. For the retake my D concentrated on the essay "formula" following tips given here on CC and her math. We'll see on Thursday (is that when scores come out) how it worked out.

At a school like Wesleyan, you might want to consider retaking the SAT, and raising the writing score. First of all, it doesn't look bad that there's such a discrepancy. It just shows that you're much stronger at reading. You've got a great reading score. I'd suggest that you retake the SAT in the fall, if you think that you can improve by 150 points or so.

i would probably suggest a retake if youre confident youll get that writing score up -- a 32 act will supplement very well though...good luck!
