Math: 790
Crit: 730
Writing: 640 (with a NINE on my essay?!?!?! ***?)
Composite: 2160 :(

Which doesnt even break a 2200, much less my goal of 2300.... However, I'm OK with my Math and Reading scores because thats generally around what I get on practices but the writing is the worst I've ever done on one of these, including the PSATs (I generally get 780-800).... So is it worth putting in the effort to retake it? Do colleges even really look at writing? Also, I need to take my Math SAT II, so I would have to retake in january. BTW, this is my first legit SAT reasoning test I've taken.

Also, my handwriting is godawful, so could that have affected my essay score? A nine is really really low for me.

Are you a junior this fall? If so, you should probably take it again next year...depends where you want to apply, otherwise; the writing is comparatively low, but some colleges (eg MIT) disregard the writing, and your math/cr is 1520/1600, which is quite good...

I'm in roughly the same boat as you (writing lowest score, other 2 perfect) and I've decided not to retake the writing on counts of A) pure laziness, I don't want to have to sit through the other two sections, B) finances, I don't want to pay them any more money, C) the fact that colleges don't weigh the writing scores very highly relative to the other 2, and D) that I still need to take SAT2s.

It depends somewhat on your intended college/major, too
