Should I retake the SAT or try the ACT?

I took the SAT in January and June and my highest score was from June. It was a 1350/1600. Should I try taking the SAT a third time in the fall, or should I switch gears and try the ACT in the fall?

I’m trying to get into UVA or Boston U.

I cannot afford a private tutor or crazy expensive prep course.
