The June results just came out and I scored
CR: 800
Math: 710
Writing: 640

I know my writing score is really low. But should I just leave it or retake the SAT in October? I don't want to bring my CR down.

I already took the SAT twice. I heard I should only take it three times.
The test I took November, I got 770 on Math, 640 Reading, 670 Writing.
The other test I took during my sophomore year.

I heard some colleges only look at the top scores from each SAT?
And some colleges put more weight on CR and Math?

I got about the same thing, except lowlowlow CR and better Math and Writing.
Personally, I would retake it. I studied writing for a week and got 100 points up. It’s pretty easy to study for because all I had to do was take practice tests. I’m sure you could easily improve that. Even if the CR goes down, it probably won’t go down by much, especially if you really understand it.

Just make sure the third time is the charm. : )
Also, it depends on which colleges you’re aiming for. If you want to go to top-tier colleges, you might want to consider retaking it. I’m going to have to retake it in October.

Good luck. : D

Probably retake it, you might drop 20 points or so on CR, but bring up your writing score by at least 50 so your superscore will look good.

You basically have the layout for what my sister got only flip CR and W a few years back and she got into Cornell.

Just to clear things up, if I take it again in October, that would be my fourth time. I know I could bring my scores up but colleges don’t really like it if we take the SAT more than three times right?

What’s your superscore? I wouldn’t take it a fourth time…

My superscore: 2230
CR 800 Math 770 Writing 660
