Hello All-
I took the SAT once and my scores are as follows:
Reading: 800
Writing: 750
Math: 690

and my ACT is the same situation:
Reading: 36
English: 35
Science: 33
Math: 28

Harvard has always been my dream school and I believe I am otherwise academically qualified. However, I don't know if I should retake the SATs to get my math score up. I don't intend to major in anything related to math (I'm interested in Classics and history), but are these math scores too low?

@123hi456 - 2240 is an excellent SAT score, even by Harvard’s standards. I would doubt that doing better on the Math component would significantly help you - instead I would focus on the rest of your application, which will be much more important in the big scheme of things. You could also consider taking the math (I or II) SAT subject test if you believe you can do well at it.

I also suggest you taking subject SAT math test. It takes much less time. Subject test only needs 75 minutes comparing to 4 hours SAT test

Your SAT score places you very much in the mid range of the scores for accepted students. I agree with Bldrdad in that those scores would not be the reason that you were not admitted if you weren’t. All the other elements are of significant importance as well.
Having said that, given that you have only taken each exam once I would take them both one more time. Not to make you anxious in any regard but to state the truth/facts. In the regular decision round last year Harvards acceptance rate was 3 1/2 percent. Any thing you can do to bolster your chances you want to do.
