Should I retake the SATs?

Right now I'm a junior at a prestigious high school (there's no point in saying my GPA because it's on a completely different system, but it's one of the stereotypical new england boarding schools), but I'm wondering if anyone has advice on whether or not I should retake the SAT reasoning test. I got a 2180 on my first attempt (the January test). Specifically, 720 in math, 720 in critical reading, and 740 in writing. Going into the test, I had gotten 750's on previous practice tests for math, and around 700 for critical reading. I had never practiced for writing. That being said, is it possible that I can improve enough on a later SAT test to make it worthwhile to restart my studying?

If it helps, one school I'm really considering applying to next year is Johns Hopkins (not for anything related to science though).

Thanks! Also, sorry if I posted this in the wrong place or something like that, I just registered and am getting used to things :)

It’s very worthwile. The math can probably be improved to near 800, the CR by about 30 points, and writing even up to 800 if MC was your weak spot. I’d go for it.

Thanks for the response! The multiple choice is what got me- I got an 11/12 on the essay, and something like a 69 on the multiple choice. thanks for the advice!

You’re in the same boat as me with writing! Totally do it. With an 11 an practice I’m sure you can get an 800. You might end up not getting it, but I have faith in you.

awesome, thanks so much! I’ll probably retake them in either may or next fall then :)

are you an exonian by any chance?
