I know I probably shouldn't retake it, but I just want to hear you guys' opinion. I got a 2300 on my first and so far only time, 800 CR 790 M and 710 WR. The low writing score bothers me, especially with only an 8/12 on the essay (I thought it was much better!) My top scores are Y and M, but I also am looking at Brown (dad is alum) and Penn. (mom, grandmom, and uncle are alums). Do you think it is worth it for me to take it again, knowing that with Yale's anti-score choice policy they will see my score even if it isn't as good? Does my 710 writing really even matter? Do they see the 8/12 essay and will this hurt my chances? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

I think that your first two scores are far more important than the writing score. Many schools still don't even report the SAT out of 2400. With the schools you are looking at, there's lots more to work on rather than re-taking the SAT's.

im so jealous of u...i cant figure out how to get my math score above 750
