Alright, I started out with a 2180 PSAT (72 M, 66CR, 80 W)

I choked on my April SAT (630 M, 690 CR, 720W)

I then, however, brought it back up in May (740 M, 680 CR, 770 W)- 2190

Heres my problem- I know I can raise my score in CR and Writing is no problem. However, I'm positive that my math will go down, as I got pretty lucky in May with the math. Is it worth it to retake with this risk?

By the way, I want to apply ED I to Tufts.

I think that if you're positive you can bring your CR into the 700's, then go for it, because many colleges just take your highest from each section into consideration, so going down in math hopefully won't be too big of a deal, unless its extremely significant.

Thanks, do you think I'd be fine with the score I have now if I didn't though?

Fine for what, Community college?!?!

Kidding, but at the same time you can never be too sure with Tufts. I've heard of people with perfect/near-perfects scores who get rejected and kids with 1800/1900s that get in, but if you're going ED it shouldn't be too much of a problem...they'll know you're interested.

But yeah, even if your math will go down, if you know CR will go up retake it; nearly all privates will just look at your highest score in each section, and basically treat each section individually.

retake, whats the worst that could happen?
