<p>I'm a senior, but the only SAT I have is from sophomore year. 800M, 800CR, 690(54 multiple choice with 7 essay). </p>
<p>I'm aiming for HYPS. Should I retake in time for regular decisions? I don't know how much it would help me, I originally thought 2290 was looked on about the same as a 2400 =(</p>
<p>Agree with the above posters. If I may add, if you feel you CAN score better (which you sure can) take it again. See, the essay is the most predictable part of Writing. It’s very simple and easy to score a 10+ and maybe a 12 too. Just search for Academic Hacker’s Essay thread and work upon it.
With a 12 on your essay you are looking at a 2300+ score at least. So give it a shot if you want. But it’s okay if you don’t. For Cornell you are the 99th percentile.</p>
<p>Since Cornell considers only math and reading scores, OP has 1600/1600. This is nearly the 99th percentile. (1600/1600 - 99.93 and 2400/2400 is 99.98, source: wikipedia).</p>
