Should I retake SAT I?

Hello,

I took my first SAT I in June and I received the following results.

CR- 760
Writing - 700
Math- 800
Total- 2260
I got 8 on my essay for some reason...
My dream university is Cornell and I heard that it wants all of my SAT scores.
I feel that I might do a little better in writing. Should I retake?

I am also early decisioning.

I think 2260 is a wonderful score. At this point, I would be focusing on making the other parts of your application strong like your essays. Once you get above a certain score/point, your ECs/awards/essays really come into play because you know most of the other applicants have high test scores. There’s really not much difference between 2260 and 2300. Especially when your M and CR are high. Unless you’re aspiring for a 2400 or something (which isn’t really a good reason anyway), I wouldn’t waste my time.

in the SAT there is M, CR, and W. The M and CR are like America, W is like Canada, doesnt really matter, its just there. So seeing as your M and CR are high, you are in great shape, no need to retake!
