Should I self-study AP Computer Science?

<p>The school I'm looking to go to as a transfer in 2 years is UC Berkeley, however on ASSIST.org it stated that they require 3 or above on AP Computer Science AB, not just A.</p>

<p>So with APCS AB discontinued, should I even self-study for AP Computer Science A? Would UCB still take the credit?</p>

<p>I'm a fairly decent programmer with knowledge in C++ and Java for ~1 year now and I want to be a CS Major in Berkeley as a transfer from a CCC in 2 years.</p>

<p>I would call the school or email them and ask about the credit.</p>

<p>If they say they will take a 3, then self study. If they say they only take a 5, then I would try working a little harder at it.</p>
