I understand that colleges want to see physics on your transcript but the thing is I can’t fit physics honors or any physics course into my schedule during any year. I was wondering if self-studying Physics 1 and getting a 4 or 5 on it would satisfy them as much as taking a physics honors class in school and getting an A in it.
Just to clarify, I’m not looking for advice on whether or not self-studying physics 1 is worth it or is a good idea. I just want to know if colleges would prefer me taking a physics class in school or self-studying an AP Physics course on my own. Thanks in advance.
Because I didn’t plan out all four years of scheduling early on as I probably should have. I’m a junior now and I regret some scheduling decisions I made during the last two years. Physics isn’t required for graduation at our school.
There’s a lot of wishing and hoping in that sentence, since 60% get a 1 or a 2, but no, it will not take the place of a class.
Regardless, I have trouble understanding how in an 8 period day (or however many blocks your school has) that you cannot fit in physics. Perhaps you are trying to jam in a course that you think is important, but really is not.
