I’m currently at an IB school, where AP government is the only AP class there (which I’m taking currently). However, next year I will be taking IB US history. Is it possible to pass the APUSH exam with taking IB US history? I really like history so studying for it wouldn’t be an issue. I also want to take the AP Euro exam, however, IB European history (is that even a thing?) is not at my school. Would self-studying for the AP Euro exam be too much of challenge? I really love history. As with with AP human geography I’m taking IB geography, are they similar enough?
AP Human Geography is a popular self-study topic, and AP Euro is also known for being relatively easy to self-study. You probably don’t want to self-study more than these two. APUSH is on the more difficult side, and should be self-studied alone. I’m currently going self-studying AP Psychology and that’s my only AP Exam I’m taking this year, so don’t push yourself too hard.
The question is why?
APUSH has a lot of material to cover. It seems that IB should cover most of the similar topics but you will probably need to fill in the holes yourself. Self Studying an additional two APs takes a lot of commitment and effort, and your time may be better used elsewhere, like in ECs.
