Should I send a 3 on a AP to Cornell?

Hi, I'm having trouble deciding on whether to self report a 3 on one of my APs to Cornell.
Here are all my AP scores:

AP World - 3
AP Lang - 4
AP Biology - 4
AP U.S. History - 4

It's worrying me that I don't even have one 5, but some people on CC assured me that it wouldn't be given much weight.

Your scores are more used for credit and class placement once you get on campus. Whether you choose to self-report or not is up to you. Definitely send in the 4s officially if you decide to attend as I think those will all give you credit. I don’t think the 3 will give you any credit, however.

AP scores carry little to no weight in the decision process. You can choose to report them n the common app if you wish. If your transcript lists an AP World History course, I would suggest reporting your score. Otherwise you run the risk of an admissions officer thinking one of two things: you took the test and scored a 1 or you were not motivated enough to take the test, neither of which is valid in your case.

@Ranza123‌ @skieurope‌ Oh, okay thanks! Yeah…a 3 will not give me any credit, but I’ll just send it in so it doesn’t look like I got a 2 or worse :)

Cornell doesn’t even take AP World credit, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. AP/IB exam scores generally aren’t used in admission decisions–they’re more to help you place out of classes or receive credit after you’ve already gotten in.

Best of luck!

I agree, self-report the 3, too, or else that they may think you got a lower score…
