I applied Early Decision for Cornell, and my AP scores aren’t the best, but should I still send them to Cornell as part of my application? I am not asking if I should send them for college credit; I am just wondering about it for part of my application.
My AP scores are as follows:
AP Physics: 3 (10th grade)
AP Language: 3 (11th grade)
AP Psychology: 4 (11th grade)
AP Calculus AB: 5 (11th grade)
You only need to self report your AP scores. Once you have made your decision to attend a specific college, then you would send an official score report.
What do you mean by self report them? I submitted my application through Common App and there is no place that I can report my AP scores.
On the common app, you are asked if you want to self report test scores. If you select yes, it will ask which scores and then you can select AP scores.
If you want to report AP scores, I would just report the AP Psychology and AP Calculus scores, since they are a 4 and 5. There’s no need to report the other scores. Admissions officers do not give as much weight to AP scores as they do to GPA and SAT/ACT test scores.
@jc20172021 I had decent AP scores but I left mine off the application. They have very little impact on your application - like 1% impact (unless you took 10 of them and all were at 5 and you were awarded an AP Scholar award).
If you get accepted then you can submit your AP scores after you graduate from high school so you can get credit in some of the freshman level classes. That’s what I intend to do. Based on the following link I already know they will take my US History, Physics, and English courses.

Thanks for letting me know. @cotopaxi . I just don’t think I’ll report them
