I have applied to Berkeley, Upenn, Ucla, Duke, and USC among others as a statistics major. While none of these universities require subject tests, some of them recommend them (granite, the UCs only recommend for the engineering program). Anyway, do I send in a 770 math 2 subject test? I am slightly worried that colleges will think less of my high grades in accelerated math classes.
I would send it.
No question, send it.
Send it. It won’t hurt. Good luck!
It is a 770 out of 800; is this a joke? You’re fine.
I got into LA engineering with a 750. Send it in!
I sent a 780 for math 2. True, it may be quite low compared to CC standards but it’ll be fine. There’s more to an applicant than just stats.
Assuming this is not a joke, of course you send it. In choosing to send subject tests, you should ignore percentiles because those don’t count for subject tests; proficiency in subject matter does and a 770 obviously shows that. If percentiles were the key, everyone with an 800 in the math 2 test would be rejected because it is very often only the 80th percentile.
Yes
Send it
It will actually look worse not to send a math score to the competitive schools, even if recommended, they expect you to take it, or will gladly accept someone that put in the effort and did so.
And incase you didn’t catch on, 770 is a fabulous score -
I feel bad for this generation that thinks you need perfect scores or it is a failure - life is gonna be brutal if you guys don’t adjust your mindset.
Congrats on a great score!
