So I just got accepted into the college of my dreams. I know you are supposed to thank colleges after interviews but my counselor told me to e-mail thank you letters to the admission office for offering admission. I will be more than happy to but I don't know if that would be appropriate... I mean this sounds like a stretch but what if they reconsider my admission because they find my letter too... idk not worthy? lol

I never heard of that, but there is no harm. Perhaps your counselor has found that it is good practice and I’m sure it makes the HS look good. I can’t imagine there is anything at all you can write (other than putting in another college’s name) to make them rescind. I would just let them know you are thrilled to be accepted, can’t wait to join the freshman class in the fall, and look forward to a wonderful four years there. And congratulations on your acceptance!!!

No. Send them your deposit. That’s what will make them ecstatic.

^^^
Yup.

happy1: Thanks! and yea I have never heard of it either so I was all ummm should I?
T26E4: lol so true!

I don’t think it’s really necessary or expected. You can if you want to. The biggest effect I can see it having is making whoever checks the admissions email smile, but I don’t think it will hurt.
