should i send AP score report to yale?

some people told me that AP scores only matter for placement, but i'm not sure. i only have two AP scores and i don't know if i need to send yale my official score report. i am applying SCEA btw.

You don’t need to send the official report, just self-report it on the common app. You would only send the official report after you get accepted and if you want to place out of certain classes.

From the Y website:

Sorry to revive the thread, but if this is the case, how does Yale verify what students self-report on their app? Not very fair for those of us who worked hard for our scores.

Y does not verify self-reported AP scores during admission, NO schools require official AP scores to be sent when applying (not counting those few colleges that now accept AP scores in lieu of SAT/ACT scores).

Other than your grades and other test scores, much of your application is based on honesty and is not verified.

Indeed, as entomom says, trust plays a large role in admissions.

However all admissions are contingent and the possibility of rescinding an offer extended based on a misrepresentative application does exist. I have wondered if any cross-checking occurs between the admissions office and the registrar who receives official AP reports in the summer from newly admitted students hoping to obtain credits.

And any applicant supplying AP scores on the Common App would do well to make sure they match results that might be included on one’s high school transcript. (In general it is a good idea to check your official high school transcript to make sure it is error-free before sending it off.)

Should I be concerned if my counselor included my official AP Score Report in her School Report? I don’t want them to get annoyed by having to dig through so much unnecessary papaerwork.

No need for concern unless there is a discrepancy between report and application.
