I need to know, haha! I have until 2 PM central to send my ACT scores and get them sent on time!
I would be applying to these two schools Early Action
What’s holding me back is that I am waiting for my ACT scores from October… 50/50 chance of some sort of increase.
My deadline is in 2 minutes to get my scores in on time. Ah! Someone, please! HELP!
@endless67 I have 2 min until deadline ah
If the applications are ready why wouldn’t you send?
Many scholarships are reserved for those applying Early Action
@saffysmum Is my score high enough though? I am waiting for Octobe rscores!
@awesomepolyglot I sent them… But in all honesty, am I screwed for Miami now?
@aznboi4981 all I see is a GPA listed, no scores. It is easy second guess especially on something of this magnitude of importance. I’m curious though why you felt you had to submit by 2pm CST. The deadline for Early Action with University of Miami is 11:59pm tonight.
@saffysmum I had to get my ACT scores sent in by 2pm CST. Deadline to get them in on time for EA.\
And oh gosh, I forgot to include my current ACT scores:
Composite 29
English 32
Math 28
Reading 30
Science 24
Writing 30
ELA/Writing/Reading 31
The worst that happens is they deny you but then they would have denied you regular decision as well. Generally chances are always better with early action and if you are not accepted generally they defer you so you had nothing to lose if you want to go to university of miami.
@aznboi4981 did you request your October scores be sent to Miami?
@saffysmum Yes, why? I mean I could still hold off from sending my application, because I have a feeling I will need to superscore my scores anyway if I do wait until regular decision with my October ACT scores.
@aznboi4981 Miami is aware that scores are delayed. They will be considering October scores for all Early Decision 1 and Early Action applicants. Providing you had your October scores sent they will evaluate them for admission. Since they are willing to include the delayed scores there would be no reason not to send them your application by today’s deadline.
@saffysmum So you mean to tell me, send in the application TODAY, and also send in October ACT scores when they become available if there are any notable improvements in any sections of my scores with the September scores I sent today?
@aznboi4981 This is from the University of Miami’s Freshman admissions page :
“Be assured that applicants will not be penalized if score reports are delayed from a testing agency. We will consider October testing for all Early Decision I and Early Action candidates. Students should have scores sent directly to the University of Miami (SAT code: 5815; ACT code: 0760) or confirm that their scores are on an official transcript. These are the only official scores that will be accepted by the university.”
It would appear, in my opinion, you should get your application in today so you qualify for Early Action which you stated you were interested in pursuing. You should have the scores sent directly to Miami now. You felt your scores would only increase and that you would need to Super Score hence I am not seeing a downside to submitting your application prior to knowing the results.
