SAT IIs for UC Engineering majors are supposed to be "optional", but basically that means mandatory if you want to be competitive, I've heard.

For UCLA and UCB, should I send in my abysmal, score of 600 in Chemistry? (I know, I should have studied more ;~;) Would it hurt more than it help? I know admissions processes are holistic, so here are my other stats:

UC GPA: 4.21
W: 4.61
UW: 3.91

SAT: 2280
SAT II math 2: 770
AP: Computer science 4, Calc BC 5, Chemistry 3, World History 4

ECs:
- two internships at engineering companies, one of which was paid
- classical pianist, 10 years, some relatively minor awards
- president of japanese cultural club
- some tutoring (80 hours)

Other:
- currently taking 6 APs
- instate
- trilingual
- 1st generation to go to college

Lol I feel like this is a chance thread disguised as something else.

Where exactly have you heard that? I don’t know much about the UCs so I wouldn’t be able to tell you, but if it’s really not necessary, don’t submit it. Your other stats are great.

Thanks everybody! I seriously regret that I didn’t study more for the SAT II and I won’t make the mistake again in the future, but there’s little I can do about it now. I don’t think I’ll send in my score.

@Esat936 lol, trust me I don’t really care about chances anymore, as I have already applied to UCs anyways. Just wondering whether or not I should send these scores, since they accept december scores.

@mnm111 yeah…it’s a long story. Bottom line is, I only have my chemistry and math 2 scores to potentially send in.
