Should I Send My Subject Test Scores?

So as of now, I have a 700 for Bio and Math 2. For colleges that allow score choice for subject tests and colleges that take the ACT in lieu of these tests (Columbia, Yale? , etc.), should I send one, both, or none?

I have a 3.8 UW, 35 ACT, applying as a business-related major, and applying to top 20 colleges (just for some background info).

All I want out of my scores is to get me through the first round of the admissions process (test scores, GPA). Are my 700s sufficient enough in this case? Will they harm my application or have no effect practically?

I’d send them…they won’t benefit you too much, but I don’t see how they can hurt you.

Also, should I send both, one, or none to the UCs?

@ayyyyyyy if I were you, I’d try to raise my scores a little bit. If you have no time to retake the SAT II, I think you should look at specific schools. Some top schools require SAT II (usually the combination of Math II and one subject) so they will definitely take into account your scores. (your current scores may diminish your chance a little bit) Some other schools do not require, they only consider the SAT II for your advantage so go ahead and send the scores. They show your effort! 700 for Bio is actually a great score because Bio is hard. For Math II, 700 is an average score.

@wiwiii Thanks for the advice! What would you recommend me to do for schools that take the act is lieu of the subject tests? I got a 35 ACT, but should I still send in my subject tests or would it be better not to? Also, I’m contemplating on whether to send my subject tests to the UCs since I have such limited time. What would you suggest?

@ayyyyyyy Your ACT score is excellent! I think you don’t need to send your SAT II. Is your ACT science score 34-36?

Yes, 35 C (34E, 35M,36R,35S). Are you referring to the lieu schools, UCs, or both?

I think your ACT composite and Science score are so great that you don’t need to submit your SAT II to any schools (unless they specifically require SAT II). Best luck with your application! If you still feel something missing in your application, work harder on other parts and try not to ponder on the SAT II so much. I believe you will make it to a great school
