Hello, quick question. I applied to the following schools: GA Tech, UT Austin, Texas A&M, Clemson for Computer Engineering. I am wondering if I should send just my ACT scores or also my SAT scores to these schools? I sent both ACT and SAT scores to A&M, but only ACT to the others. My scores are:
ACT: 28 (20 Writing, 25 Science, 29 English, 26 Reading and a 33 in math).
My SAT score is a 1900 (660 math, 640 writing and 600 reading.)
I only sent my ACT because I thought they were better scores than my SAT, at least the MATH part, and that’s what’s mostly important for Engineering I guess… And I know ALL these schools are a reach for me, but I’ve already been admitted to Texas Tech.
bump
those are pretty equal scores, except yes you ACT math is higher. There is no harm in sending both though if you can afford it.
I think your ACT actually has the edge despite the conversion table saying your SAT composite is slightly better (this is because your ACT Math and English are very good). They’re pretty much equal, but I’d send both if possible.
For those schools, either or both will do. Those are good scores for where you are applying.
Thanks to everyone who replied. I actually forgot the deadline for sending scores to GA Tech was 1. december, so now I only hav e ACT scores there, but I might just send my SATs to UT aswell… thanks guys!
@Spencek really? That’s really good news for me, but most people told me I’d have a hard time being accepted to GA Tech, UT Austin and even T A&M! Man, all this different information is nerve wracking
Depending on the school! I didn’t take the SAT, so I only sent my ACT in. Good luck with getting accepted! I got my acceptance letter September You did crazy-good on your tests in my opinion. I got a 23 overall(no studying or prep for it)… but still! Great job!
@CaptainWaffles Thanks! I got my acceptance letter to Texas Tech on the 17th of October. I was an auto admit. I must admit though, that waiting for some of these schools’ decisions (such as Texas A&M who has just recently started notifying people.) is quite stressful. Oh well, I hope it’lll be worth it
@GustafAngus It will be! I’m super stressed out even being accepted, to be honest xD I just can’t wait til we are all enrolled and it goes smoothly
Well GA tech is a little difficult, but I have seen people with those scores go Ivy…A&M and UTA are probably ok
