Hey CC'ers!

I finished last year well with As in 7/8 classes (5 of those being APs) and a B in Pre-Calc. This first semester though, my grades dropped. Nothing drastic, but a C in AP Calc. Math just isn't my strong suit. My other grades were:

AP Chem- B and C (the class is two periods and although it's the equivalent of a B, it still shows up as both which is annoying)
AP Euro- A
H Econ- A
Dual enrollment Greek Myth- B
DE Geology- A

What I'm trying to ask is, would it look worse to send in the midyear report with the C"s" or not at all? I know the admissions blog says that it's only encouraged for RD applicants to send it in, but... I don't know.

Thanks in advance!

Nobody?

It is encouraged because colleges are looking for an upward trend.

My advice is to follow the colleges’ application instructions…if it is not required…don’t send them. BE CAREFUL though…SOME COLLEGES REQUIRE THE MID YEAR REPORT for RD…and if using the Common App…you can’t pick and choose who receives it. If you are applying to colleges that require it…you will have to send it!

Lastly, do know that admission offers can be rescinded when final grades are submitted…and final grades are not optional.

Thanks! I probably won’t send it then.

I don’t think my grades would warrant rescinding, so I should be okay there. Hopefully I’ll have at least a B in calc and I’m nearly certain I’ll have As in my other classes at the end of the year.

And my high school is weird and won’t submit anything online, so that should be alright.
