Guys I really need some advice on this. So basically I really want to take AP Chemistry in junior year, but my school forces us to do Honors Physics as a co-requisite. As you may imagine this takes up a lot of space (especially with the lab days). The most practical way for me to fit this in would be to skip AP World History in my junior year and take it instead in senior year. Will this harm me as I probably will only have 3 years of History class (senior year included)?
No matter the college major you want to do, most highly recommend four years of history, so I highly recommend doing four years. However, if you’re not going into the humanities (i.e. languages, social studies, and other areas alike), it is not necessary to do AP… regular/honors is fine.
Is it possible for you to take regular/honors history while doing Honors Physics and AP Chemistry? If not, I’d suggest taking another honors or AP Science and taking AP World instead. If you can and plan on doing something in the STEM field, I’d say to go for it.
Best of luck and have a good day!
You can take AP chem and honors physics plus honors US history as a junior, and AP world senior year.
It’s highly recommended that all highschool students take 4 years of English, math and social studies courses.
AP World certainly isn’t a requirement but you should make sure you take a social studies course (honors or standard level is fine!) every year of highschool.
If you aren’t planning on going into humanities majors in college you have nothing to worry about with prioritizing STEM APs over humanities APs
