In my school, this course and BC are generally given to people coming from honors pre calc. Currently, i am in regular pre cal and have a 99 right now and last semester. I am allowed to waiver into the course due to the fact that i dont necessarily meat the main requirement, but then i cant drop the class if it is too difficult for me in the end. Overall, i regret not taking the advanced/honors path because i generally love math and science with a passion and i feel like i can go further in my studies in these classes. And with science, I believe it would be appropriate to take AP Physics C as well but this requires the AB course concurrently as least. Im not specifically sure what i will exactly do in college yet, but it most certainly be related to science/math/engineering/etc. I know every high schools curriculum is different, but im assuming Calc AB will be similar to most school since it is AP. Is there anything I should first if i do end up taking this route? Im going to talk to my teacher about it as well tomorrow. Thanks for the help in advance
At my kids high school the typical path is
Algebra
Geometry
Algebra 2
PreCalc
AP Calc AB or BC
From reading on this site, most schools seem to have a similar path. I don’t see why you couldn’t go from PreCalc this year to AB next year. Unless your PreCalc is skipping stuff that other schools include.
OP wants to go from regular precalc to Calc BC. It’s very doable but CALC BC will cover two semesters of calculus in one year which is the same at any university
