I JUST got my corrected scores back from CB after I had them verify for the December test. I got 680M, 760CR, 800W – a 2240. My superscore stands at a 2300 (740M, 760CR, 800W). I’m aiming for Ivy Leagues, and Saturday’s sitting would be my 4th try, and I do not think that looks good on an application.
I wouldn’t bother unless you really think you can get that M up. Taking it a fourth time won’t hurt your app, but there’s also not much you can do to help it at this point–your scores are terrific.
I’ll join the voices of reason and just rephrase the sentiment.
Is there a chance you'll need a single sitting score?
_If yes - take it and push to the max. Exit.
Have you ever hit Math 760+ or CR 780+ marks on any of your true CB practice tests?
_If yes - take it and push to the max. Exit.
Sleep in this Saturday and carry on.
I would PM you with this question, but I think others might be curious too about the details of your rescoring: what made you feel certain there had been a glitch? What did the CB say?
Thank you all so much for the advice. I followed it and I did end up with the 800 in Math, and I totally forgot to answer @gcf101 's question so I will delve into that as well.
I was certain that there was a “glitch” (error on part of CB) given that my answers agreed in general with those on the CC thread for December 2015, so before I called the CB, I felt extremely confident of high scores in both Reading and Writing. I looked at a thread on CC here about a student who made the same error in filling the wrong section with his/her answers, and I immediately realized that I would face the same ordeal of having to wait an extended period of time for my scores. After scores came out, not surprisingly, my scores were not available. So, I called the inept CB representatives, who said that I should wait 5-7 days for a specialist, just like the person who had the same issue and described it in his/her own thread. I then checked out said person’s thread and saw that he/she provided the phone number of the specialist that she had to wait 5-7 days for and helped her out a lot. So, I called that number and ended up talking to the guy, who was quite nice. He looked me up and found my dang scores. 600W, 620CR, 560M. I knew something was effed up as on my past tests, I scored 730M and 740M. I told the guy and he agreed about the discrepancy and said I could order score verification or he could look into it. This was around Christmas, so I went on vacation and decided to just wait it out and call the dude when I came back. A few days into vacation, I got an email from a specialist saying my scores were uploaded and that there was a mistake in scoring that led to a large delay. I check and the 760CR, 800W, 680M scores are there. I become happy and make this thread, and I wait a few weeks and get that 800M I’ve so dearly wanted.
