Sorry for the bad clash reference.

I wasn't sure what area to post this in, but seeing as a transfer student is a potential possibility then I figured this was the appropriate forum.

I have a decision to make but can't find viable advice because the people I talk to are biased. I am a resident of Indiana, but moved to Colorado about a year ago. I moved in with my sister here and have been working as an engineering technician at a technologies contractor. I recently applied to school here, but did not get accepted due to poor grades that I received at the end of my freshman year because of medical reasons. I have not been able to gain in-state residency because I was unable to prove that I was an independent. Because I didn't get accepted I am at a crossroads. Should I return to Indiana University in Indiana and study either biophysics or biotechnology, or attend a community college in Colorado, bring up my grades, and gain in-state residency and attend Colorado State University as a Biomedical/Electrical engineering major.

Pros of attending IU are that I would be able to start in the fall and not pay out of state tuition. I would be able to fix the grades that I got at the end of my freshman year to bring up my GPA.

Pros of staying in Colorado: I have a fairly decent job that is good experience for a future in engineering. Lifestyle in Colorado is great.

I have friends and family at both places so that is pulling me equally from both sides. The problem with going to community college is that I have already taken my gen eds and if I went to one I would not be able to take anything that would benefit my major at a university. I have already taken a year off and would need another year a community school to bring up my GPA.
