Should I Stay or Should I go?

Good for you, @irishdancer25. Let us know what happens. Good luck.

It sounds like you should at least request a leave from your school for next semester. Thereā€™s no use paying $30L for classes in a major that you donā€™t like. Also it will give you more time with your family, even if you end up just moving home and working (or volunteering) in the medical field while you refine your goals.

Really happy you made a decision. No regrets - just move forward. School isnā€™t jail, you can adjust if needed in the future, but if you donā€™t try you may feel you missed something. It really sounds like this is the right thing for you! Big hugs and smiles to you.

Good for you. You are listening to your heart and mind and making a sound decision. Youā€™ve got this and you will be great! All the best to your dad with his illness. He is a lucky man to have you by his side.

Donā€™t forget to request a leave of absence from your school - you can say itā€™s to try and see if nursing if for you? (This way you can return if you see itā€™s not - if they donā€™t want you to, ask for an official withdrawal).
Congratulations on making a decision and finding a program that works.
You can become an NP or DNP, both excellent careers.

Congrats on your app.

Everyone is nervous for nursing school and worries how they will handle the challenges. That is a perfectly normal feeling and I would worry only if you did not have that concern!

You will be equipped with what you need to know to be a successful nurse. As you acquire knowledge, you will gain confidence and experience and the fear will slowly fade a bit.

Good luck and best wishes to your dad.
