Should I still study for SAT/ACT?

Okay, so this upcoming year I'm going to be a senior in high school and today I got my ACT scores. I got a 30 composite score which is enough to get me into the college I want and the honors program there while also qualifying for 100% Bright Futures. However, I only got a 28 on the english section with writing (my essay scored 11/12 and without, the score was a 26). Should I study for it and retake it? Or should I just be happy with the scores I received? I feel like I could do a lot better on it (half of the grammar section was semi-colon usage and I have no idea how to use them) and I'm just wondering what others think. I had planned on getting one specific book for each SAT section that helps to master it so I could go up from a 1900 (630 CR, 610 M, 660 W) to somewhere in the 2000's. Should I still do this?

Hi anthenianjames
I am a Mom who has helped three kids get into college.
I always tell them if they feel they can do better, they should at least try!
I have used a lot of different tutoring companies for my kids and found some really great ones. Let me know if you want to know some of my contacts.
You seem smart enough on your own, but if you can do better go for it!

Thanks Supermom56, I think the real reason why I wasn’t sure is that the materials come to about 60 dollars for the SAT and I’m a serious perfectionist. Like after AP exams all I could think about was how I should’ve written my free-responses better, how I should’ve known more of them, etc. even though according to the AP score calculators after underscoring myself I probably got 4’s and 5’s

Oh, and if anyone wants to know I specifically plan on getting the Direct Hits books, Dr. John Chung’s SAT Math, and that Blackboard (I think) Review Mastering the SAT Writing Section
