should i study abroad?

i have option to go to University of Amsterdam, but is it worth it? its one of the elite world recognized universities, however won’t i have problem finding job in US afterwards?

theres another option, studying at UVA for 1 year , but sending applications later this year to US colleges/universities and applying as a FRESHMAN, i lose a year like that , but its maybe actually worth it?

and for masters…theres no doubt about it i plan to pursue masters in US without any doubt.

If you study at a university after secondary school you cannot apply as a freshman- you have to apply as a transfer student. However hard it is to get financial aid as an international student, it is harder as an international transfer student. Even assuming you can get into UVa, which is no sure thing.

Given your financial constraints, saving your money to do your masters in the US makes sense.

@collegemom3717 well i wont even be doing bachelors, ill be on foundation program (because of country diploma) + so im absolutely free to do so :smiley: + even if i started bachelors, my credits wouldn’t transfer right, since its EU.

You are of course free to do so, and EU credits may or may not transfer, but the vast majority of US colleges will count you as a transfer student if you have taken third level classes- anywhere in the world- after finishing secondary school. A foundation course would not count as third level.

@collegemom3717 thank you :smiley:

Actually, foundation classes don’t count as college since they’re the equivalent of a pg year to get students ready for selective colleges. So you’d apply as a freshman.
So foundation year at UAmsterdam followed by a better list of us colleges may be your best choice, especially since if your second attempt at us colleges fails, you have UAmsterdam as a solid backup.

@MYOS1634 YEA! :smiley: im excited. my aim is to get at least 1450 sat, 700+ subjects . im fine haha :smiley: im gonna focus on activities.
