Title. I am an out of state student for all schools mentioned above. Good GPA and ECs. Should I submit a 1470 for CS?
If the rest of your application is very strong and the submission of your test score would subtract from that strong application, don’t submit that score. Otherwise, submit it.
GA tech is not test optional this year, so for that one you will need to submit.
I would, yes.
It’s required at GT.
yes
Purdue is not test optional either unless you couldn’t take a test.
Submit because your math score (770 / 800) is high.
Well, I posted because I am not sure whether it would add to my application.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. As deadlines are coming up, I was worrying whether I should submit or not because I am OOS and they are very, very selective schools. I will submit my SAT to U of Maryland, G Tech, Purdue, UNC Chapel, V Tech, Vanderbilt, U Mich, and NC State. Hope this all sounds good and hope it won’t negatively affect my application. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am not sure whether to submit to Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, UIUC, USC, and UT Austin. Obviously, I am not submitting to the Ivy’s because I think they want 1550+. If anyone can provide me with some more guidance/advice, it would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Malarkey, as Joe would say.
75% of Cornell’s enrolled students had an SAT score below 1530, about half below ~1470, according to their latest CDS.
Caltech/MIT are almost always the highest in the country - Caltech’s latest mid-point was 1540.
Did you end up getting into those schools?
Rejected from Georgia Tech
Didn’t apply to U Maryland
Rejected for CS at Purdue but got in for second choice major of Business Analytics and Information Management
Wow that’s surprising… are you going to Purdue then
If you want CS, I hope you consider other schools. Better to study what you want. And there are still schools with apps open. Good luck.
Nope, probably NC State or UNC. I have a post that I am updating in my college journey and you’ll find everything there.
Yea, I probably won’t attend. I got into NC State and UNC and they’re in-state so that’s probably the best choice. I also have a college journey post that I am updating fairly frequently so all of the details are there!
Oh you’re the guy that applied to every school in the country :). Kidding. Sort of
Ok I’m tracking there.
