Should I submit my class rank if it is optional?

My school does not weigh GPA’s. I am fairly certain that if they did I would likely be the highest because I have filled every space in the schedule possible with them and have gotten A’s in all of them.

My class rank is a bit lackluster for some of the schools I am applying to because I am 21 / 496 and thus not in the top one percent of my class. I do not yet really understand if that is a problem because that puts me in the top 5% of students at my school and not top 1%.

If it is optional to submit my class ranking should I submit it?

Guess it depends where you are applying but top 5% is still impressive. Some merit awards require class rank so maybe a good idea to provide it if it’s available. Good luck.

It’s optional. Submit it if you want; don’t submit it if you don’t. Regardless, colleges will look at your rank/percentile/GPA on your transcript vs what you self reported and compare that to the school profile they provide and (if applicable) other applicants from your school in this year’s cycle.

Saying that is just sounds disingenuous.
