<p>They will see your 1940 because you can’t choose which SAT scores are sent. However, most schools look at your best score. (“superscore”) So I think you should retake your SAT I and then send your scores unless you are applying ED.</p>
<p>When you order any SAT score sent (I or II), they automatically send all scores they have fore you. Of the colleges you list: (a) Northwestern, Hopkins, Emory, WashU, and USC recommend IIs but do not require them; however, you should send them considering that yours are good for those colleges; (b) Rice and NYU require IIs regardless of whether you submit SAT or ACT so for those you must send them; (c) Duke normally requires IIs but will take the ACT in lieu of both the SAT and SAT IIs, nevertheless with your good IIs you should still send them. Send all your scores ACT and SATs, as to difference between SAT and ACT, they will decide which they consider the higher and use that one for admission so you should not be concerned.</p>
