I’m currently applying to universities (specifically UC) for a major in Business, and scored a decent score of 1320 on the SAT but scored poor scores 640 for Maths 2 and 630 for Physics (Most likely because I’m from South Africa and we do a completely different syllabus). Should I submit my subject test scores, or will it reflect badly on my application? The Subject Test scores are not required at the universities I’m applying to.
@carz98 - I dont know about UC in specific, but in general, if colleges don’t require it - and you are comfortable with them considering your app without it - you don’t need to submit it. And from what I have read - if colleges say recommended - it pretty much means required.
Nope. “Recommended” means “recommended.” Although for highly selective colleges, many, if not most applicants will submit Subject Tests. If the scores enhance your application, submit them; if they don’t, don’t.
You can’t use that as an excuse. Math is math and physics is physics; there’s not a lot of interpretation here. If there were topics not covered in your curriculum, the onus is on you to fill in the gaps, not on the school to spoon feed you the information.
