So I’m planning on applying to BU, and I know that they don’t require Subject Tests, but I’ve heard from numerous people say that if you have taken the subject tests, it’s a good idea to send them in even if you don’t do too well. However, my scores aren’t exactly the best.
Literature: 550
Math II: 630
Physics: 570
I mean, I wouldn’t consider them completely horrible since they are all within 1 standard deviation from the mean, but they aren’t great either. My regular SAT however sits right in the middle of BU’s 50% (1950). So what do you guys think, should I submit these subject test scores or do you think it would hurt my application more than help?
@anxiousenior1 Yeah, they are, but like I said, they are within 1 standard deviation. Plus, you gotta remember usually only the students trying to get into top schools are taking the subject tests, so that affects the average quite a lot compared to something like the normal SAT where almost every college bound student is taking.
@jackisawesome Planning on sending them to Boston University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
P.S: My regular SAT is a 1950, which falls within BU’s and WPI’s average. I just wasn’t sure if these scores would be able to help me (mostly because I’m banking on test scores to pull some weight off my GPA).
