Should I switch teachers?

I've been considering this since the beginning of the year. My PreCalc teacher is incompetent; she doesn't teach the concepts in the homework that's assigned. All she teaches is the "simplest" concept I could've learned by just reading the section. Even though it's a in-depth "review" of Algebra II, that doesn't mean that skimping over it will do good. Also, she's not good at explaining it either. The other PreCalc teacher actually explains what's on the homework (I asked a couple of my friends and they said so). He/she is also the Math Department Chair.

Should I switch teachers? I'm planning on going straight into AP Calculus BC as well next year, and a horrible math teacher won't help me prepare for this.

Thanks.

i would switch, because it will help in the long run too

No other replies?! I’ll have to somehow convince my counselor too…

BUMP

YESSSSS!!! Man, you’re so lucky that you can switch teachers. I tried to switch my teachers for math and english, but my counselor won’t allow it (which is really dumb).

Go for it!! Like the poster above me said, you are lucky that you have that opportunity. Last year, I had the stupidest geometry teacher. I had to practically self-teach my self. I tried to switch but my counselor would not let. I still ended with an A, but it was challenging.

I switched English teachers last year between semesters as my first one was somewhat biased against me. Needless to say, my grades improved lol.

They said I have to talk to her. How would talking to her change her methods of teaching? It’s been 2 months and I can assume that she’s incomptent. I MUST GET OUT. I just got assigned homwork over a section she didn’t teach…
