I’m a junior in highschool starting in August. I’m taking 2 AP Classes this year and they are AP Psych and AP US History. I’m already thinking about my senior year schedule and was wondering if I should take AP Chem and Bio in the same year. Does anybody here take or taken both at the same time? If you do, please let me know and tell me how it was. I don’t want to torture myself :\ .
Thanks in advance everyone
These are the only 2 AP classes that I do not recommend taking concurrently. Each class is a ton of work. In addition to the inherent rigor from being an AP class, each requires additional time to conduct labs and write up lab reports. Many schools double block these classes or require attendance at before- or after-school sessions to get everything in. Take one as a junior and the other as a senior, if possible.
Hey thanks for replying skieurope.
I really need help on deciding what classes I should take. My school doesnt offer alot of AP Classes like other schools. I can’t take any math/english AP’s because I’m not good enough for them. Theres only a few that im interested in that criteria of classes. My options are
-AP Bio
-AP Chem
-AP Computer Science
-AP Europian History
-AP Government and Politics
-AP Physics C
What do you think I should take concurrently? I was thinking Chem, Comp Sci, and Gov. I was gonna take Bio and Chem at the same time but it really doesn’t sound like a good idea
I totally agree with @skieurope. Set yourself up for success. Colleges don’t expect that you can take all the AP sciences.
AP Euro is also a ton of work (or at least was when my daughter took it).
If you think that you can handle it, go for it. Your success is dependent on you.
