I’m entering my Sophomore year and this year ill be taking…
AP Chemistry
AP World
Algebra2/ Trig
Drama
Honors Speech
Latin 2
Sophomore Research
… in school and I am dropping my lunch. I also won’t get home until at least 7pm every day (and sometimes even as late as 10 pm)
In freshman year I was in honors biology which is taught by the AP Bio teachers and uses the same textbook, so I have a pretty good handle on the curriculum, but I’m worried it will be hard to manage with my elective schedule. Has anyone taken it through CTY before?
._. why would you want to
I want to take a course called Post-AP genetics in my senior year that requires AP Bio as a Prerequisite and I won’t have time to fit AP Bio into my schedule until senior year
bro, honestly chill out. you’re a sophomore. you’re already taking two ap’s lol. you even sacrificed lunch (???), I think youll be fine haha save it for junior year. if you can’t then breh should’ve done bio instead of chem sophomore year lol
I think you’ll burn yourself out, especially since you have 2 aps and algebra 2. You should build up rigor overtime, maybe in senior year take 3-4 aps. If you spread too thin, you might get low scores.
Why don’t you take AP bio instead of AP chem then? Or what is “sophomore research”, can you drop that and add AP bio? Though you should consider that it’s a lot of work to take 2 science APs.
I would recommend like @mathyone said to take AP Biology instead of AP Chemistry or take AP Biology in junior or senior year. This is because, in my county, 10th graders are only allowed to take AP World History.
Taking 3 APs in 10th grade is a very challenging feat to complete. It is important to take rigorous schedules, but it is not a good idea to push yourself so much, you can not handle it. If you believe you can handle it, I would tell you to go for it. Otherwise, I recommend saving AP Chemistry or AP Biology for later.
Have a good day and good luck!
