I'm a junior in high school. When i was a senior i am thinking about taking ap chem, ap stats, and ap physics c mechanics. I was wondering how hard it would be to manage the coursework in all of them at once, as well as three other clasess. Please help.

depends on ur school/teacher…how hard they are on u really…

Uhh…duh. Of course, take as many APs as you can. You will not regret it, but you will if you don’t take as many as possible. I regret not taking AP World History and AP US History.

Talk to other people who have done it. I’m taking AP Chem and AP Physics C this year, along with 2 more APs, a self-study AP, and two college classes, but I’m the only person who’s taking the two at once. It’s a bit more common for people to take AP Physics B and AP Chem, but still rare.
At my school, it’s not too bad. I an get an A in Chem, albeit a low one, without having to work too hard. Physics would be really difficult or me no matter what else I was taking.

Btw, the reason why I chose to take them together is because at my school, AP sciences, except EnviSci, are 1.5 bells. So, Monday it’s two bells, Tuesday it’s one, Wednesday it’s one again, etc. And in the next week, on Monday, it’ll be one bell, Tuesday will be two bells, etc. When classes are a single bell, you go to study hall during the other bell, which is fine, but I don’t like having study hall, so I wanted to wait until I could fit two sciences because AP Physics and AP Chem are set up to mesh, so I have 3 bells of science everyday, either 2 Chem and 1 Phys or 1 Chem and 2 Phys.

It shouldn’t be that bad, especially if its just the Mechanics portion of AP Physics C. Since you will have the whole year to cover it, you should be very prepared for the AP test.

It depends on how masochistic you are.

It’s definitely doable though. At least, I certainly hope so, because I have both next year…

It depends on if you think you can handle it. If you love the classes, and you like to learn about those subjects, I’d say go for it!

I think it truly depends on your schools and the teachers. Like AP Chem seems much easier than chemistry last year because we are skipping around so much, and the AP Physics teacher makes it insanely hard and very stressful. I think it would be fun to do both at once, but good luck nonetheless :)

!!! That is so coincidential!!! This is my exact dilemma. I want to take ChemAP, PhysCAP, and StatAP next year too!..I wonder if you go to my school…anyways, yeah I’m worried for how hard it’ll be :(

Thanks for all ur opinons. I know i’m taking ap chem and stats, but im more debating between physics and euro or u.s history. I’m in normal physics right now, but i feel constantly bored because the work is soo easy to understand and do. And i really want to take a history next year.

oh and how hard is the calculus in ap physics?

NOT hard. im in calc ii, in ap physics (we do b and c) and theres almost no calculus at all. but physics is a ppain. THE hardest class ive ever taken…and i got into princeton. But if you like science/are good at it, go for it. me, I don’t like science, except for bio

AP Chemistry is fine if you’ve had prior Chemistry experience and were good at it. European History is alright.

Depends on teacher, it’s easy at my school, neither give graded hw and test grades are bumped.
